It is our belief that God gave us stewardship of our animals. To the extent that we are able to meet that charge is what defines us as caring people.
We believe in nurture and bonding as the foundation of our training. At birth each puppy is held to our face to let them smell our breath. This simple exercise starts the very beginning of our bond that will last the dog’s life. Our sled dogs you will “Mush” were born in our home. We care about their life as many would care about their own children. In so doing, we are rewarded with dogs that respond to us with love, a wagging tail, and an unshakable desire to take us with them down the trail.
You’ll see that our Alaskan Huskies are ecstatic to go “mushing”. Nothing says it more than how the whole kennel explodes into a chorus of howls as you take off down the trail.
As close as they are to us, they also will like your attention too. Just like people they like to be told they’ve done a good job. When we get back to the kennel, we always make time to give each dog a pet and rub behind the ears to say “thanks”.
